A story about a broken water pump.
The song was made an an experiment to create a DJ-friendly pop tune.
Written, composed, performed and produced by muself.
Foley sounds recorded by myself.
All instrument sounds (including drums) are digitally synthesized with ZynAddSubFX.
Arranged and mixed using LMMS, vocals recorded and edited with Ardour.
This song was never really deemed finished, but the album project this was meant for stalled and was abandoned.
And so after 12 years somebody found a file on Freesound where I lowpassed the song and made it into a "party behind a wall" sfx.
By that person's request I have now made a cover art for this and I am publishing it, albeit not with a lot of "tada".
LYRICS:
[ VERSE 1 ]
I woke up and wanted to go,
What's that sound, man - I don't know
Brush my teeth and start the show
But the water - it won't flow
( gurgle )
I run left and I run right
Where's the guy I'm gonna fight
No one's there and no one's here
Suddenly a voice so near:
[ CHORUS ]
I broke the waterpump!
[ VERSE 2 ]
My both hands were soaked in mud
Just like carrots are in blood
I so wanted to be clean
If you know just what I mean
( pssst! )
Man I felt it on my chest
Like a bird inside a nest
Rumbling down a mountain hill
Terrirying, freezing feel.
[ BRIDGE ]
[ CHORUS ]
[ VERSE 3 ]
For as long as I am thankful
I can go and n ot be shy
But if I think I'm desertful
Joy can easily pass me by
I thought I'm so down to earth
But I'd call this a rebirth
When you notice what you miss
Then you finally hear the hiss
[ BRIDGE ]
You finally hear the hiss
Of the waterpump
