Dragonfly This has been one of the easiest but also hardest songs to write. Bushi always used to encourage me to write simple, minimal music – this song is an attempt at doing so… Once I felt as though its elements were well balanced and I was finding a sort of success in writing something more simple, I had an insane urge to show this track to Bushi – he was always one of my biggest supporters and one of the most consistent fans and advocates of my music. He would listen to it on the way to work, show it to the tradies at the worksite he was on and always talked about getting me gigs at various parties over the world. “Dragonfly” is a gentle, melodic slow groove, a closed eye journey. Which aims to celebrate the gentle loving nature of my late friend; a beautiful, supportive, raw, authentic, loving man.
