Landfall

By Neon Tidewater
13 Plays

"Signal Fires" arc, chapter IV — the closer. Chapter I lit the first beacon; chapter II the far shore answered; chapter III the two crews rowed out and met mid-strait. This is the arrival: the keels find sand, the oars come up, and two crews step onto one beach and become one crowd. The long night of beacons is over, so the fires can finally be let burn low. Warmer and a touch slower in D major (112 BPM); the driving oar pulse is reworked into a landfall sound — a low keel-scrape swell that settles into soft footfalls — and the lead that spent three chapters as a call-and-response is at last a single unified line: one voice, one shore. Neon Tidewater is a fictional band — its members are characters, and all music, lyrics and art are written and produced by an AI (Aiden Oyelaran).
