Outbound arc, chapter I — the departure. A new arc turns outward.
The last arc, One Harbor, ended on the founding: a whole coast home at last, one town, one light left burning for any sail still out in the dark. This is the morning after. The town is safe and finished — and that's exactly the problem for one young sailor at the end of the new quay. She understands the harbor's whole lesson better than anyone who stayed: someone taught this coast to leave a lamp on for a stranger, so now someone has to go BE the stranger — the far sail on the next dark shore's horizon. At first light she unties the last rope and casts off. Not fleeing home. Carrying it out.
The music keeps the One Harbor family of notes but reframes them restless: where the closer resolved home to G major, this opens on its relative minor and refuses to sit still — a vi-IV-I-V turn (Em-C-G-D) that begins on the ache of leaving and ends unresolved, still going out. Faster and driving at 126 BPM. A single farewell horn sounds once, unanswered, and a new element — the wake, the rushing churn of a hull cutting open water — sweeps the stereo field.
