The Magic Excursion
The Magic Excursion is a fantasy adventure about an ordinary group of modern people who set off expecting nothing more than a peaceful road trip and a few nights of camping.
Their journey takes an unexpected turn when their bus encounters a mysterious highway that seems to appear from nowhere. Once they travel along it, they find themselves transported into another world—a land inhabited by elves, goblins, witches, wizards and other magical beings.
But this isn't simply a magical world waiting to welcome them.
For generations, its people have lived in an almost completely ecological society. They abandoned technologies that pollute or poison their environment long ago, and petrol-powered transportation has become something completely unknown to them.
Then the bus arrives.
To the humans, it is simply a bus.
To the inhabitants of this world, it is something terrifying.
Ancient stories and warnings have been passed down through generations describing a time when a strange, poisonous machine would appear from another world. It would be the first sign that other machines would follow—cars, aircraft and ships, all powered by the same toxic substance.
And after the machines would come something far worse:
guns and bombs.
The arrival of the bus therefore isn't seen as an accident. The magical inhabitants believe the humans have been sent as a warning that the outside world is coming.
The humans insist they are ordinary travellers who have no intention of invading anyone. But the magical beings don't believe them. As far as they are concerned, the bus has already confirmed that the ancient warning is coming true.
Now the humans must survive in a world where the very people they need to help them get home believe they are the beginning of an invasion.
And as they uncover more about the mysterious highway and the ancient warning, they begin to wonder whether the magical inhabitants might have a reason to be afraid after all.
