For centuries, humanity has admired the world's most famous statues without ever questioning what they might really be.
But the truth is hidden on a distant planet.
On this alien world, mirrors are more than objects that reflect an image. They are gateways capable of transporting living beings between worlds. For generations, the inhabitants have lived with an ancient warning: never accidentally break a mirror.
Because when a mirror is broken by accident, something unimaginable happens.
The person who breaks it is transported from their planet to Earth.
But they don't arrive as themselves.
They are transformed into stone, becoming a statue somewhere on Earth. They are frozen in place, unable to move, unable to escape and unable to communicate with the humans who walk past them every day.
And this has been happening for thousands of years.
The aliens have no idea where their missing people go. On their planet, those who accidentally break mirrors simply disappear. They become part of an ancient mystery that has haunted their civilisation for generations.
On Earth, meanwhile, the statues are regarded as works of art, monuments and landmarks.
Nobody knows that some of them are alive.
Nobody knows that behind the stone is an alien mind, trapped and watching the world go by.
And the phenomenon is even stranger than humanity could imagine.
Multiple alien beings can occupy the same physical statue, yet each experiences its own separate reality. To each trapped being, they are the only consciousness imprisoned inside the stone. They have no knowledge that others may be sharing the same statue.
For centuries, the aliens have remained trapped on Earth, locked inside stone bodies scattered across the planet.
Until one human discovers the truth.
A way to reverse the process.
A way to release the beings from their stone prisons and return them to physical form.
At first, it seems like humanity has uncovered one of the greatest discoveries in history. The statues are not monuments—they are living extraterrestrial prisoners who have been trapped on Earth against their will.
But the rescue soon becomes a nightmare.
The beings are not peaceful.
After centuries of imprisonment, they have developed an intense hatred for Earth and the humans who unknowingly became part of their torment. They don't see themselves as invaders.
