Never Can Say Goodbye (Remixed and Remastered)

By Bob Baldwin
June 25, 2009 was a sad day indeed. While standing at the gas pump in NC listening to WFAN in NY (how strange is that?), sport jock Mike Francesa broke the news that the great Michael Jackson had transitioned. Even he was stunned for a few seconds. What a surreal moment that afternoon as I quickly reflected on the 40+ years of this man’s in a matter of seconds. A sad day that was, just a few hours before embarking on another great tour. Nearly a decade post death, we revisited the project and decided to remix and re-master to keep in step with today’s audio technology. In the process, we were able to re-record music and brought in the element of vocals. Porter Carroll, Jr., the drummer-extraordinaire, who founded the group Atlantic Starr in high school in Greenburgh, NY, brought the rhythmic sense of what Michael had in his music. His vibe on “Billie Jean” was perfect. Enjoy this sentimental project by Pianist Bob Baldwin.
