This Baldwin and Beatles thing is a one-sided lovefest. They don’t even know Bob BALDWIN, but how could they? Beyond that, they are other contrasting sorts. After all, BALDWIN is an African-American, the Beatles are from Across the pond. The Beatles are a pop act of the highest order, BALDWIN is made up of jazz and R&B stuff.
Other than a few grumblings that Billy Preston and the Beatles entertained a collaboration, by and large, you have to look all through tons of Beatles music to hear even a peep from the iconic Mellotron, Rhodes or Wurlitzer keyboard...and Baldwin is...well...a pianist. Soo...where’s the connectivity between these humanoids?
Maybe these stark contrasts are what makes this project so unique. At the end of the day, those 12 notes, which have glued the musical universe since the beginning of dirt, prove once again that music truly IS the universal language.
Baldwin’s multifarious ‘gushings’ of the Beatles began in the sixties as a young lad living in in NY.
