Rapture came to life through experimenting with piano chords that I wouldn't typically use in my compositions. By doing so, I created something that had a jazzy atmosphere while still remaining true to my artistic style. As I continued to flesh out the arrangement and refine the choice of instrumentation, I realized that vocals were essential in grounding the composition and gluing together the piano, violin, viola and cello. To me, Rapture represents the fear of the unknown and the beauty found in its discovery.
