The Old Woods

More than 1,200 acres of forest across six Pioneer Valley towns are being permanently conserved, protecting woods, streams, wetlands, wildlife habitat and drinking water. I liked the simplicity of that story. In a time when so much land is measured by what can be built on it or what it might be worth, these woods get to remain woods.
“The Old Woods” came out of that thought, especially the idea that the animals crossing this land will never know somebody signed papers to protect it. They'll just keep moving through the forest as they always have. Maybe that's the best kind of legacy. Leave a little wild land for the ones who come this way.
