“Beyond the Prelude Storm” is a song about what remains when a destructive chapter has finally ended, and the realization that what came before was only the prelude to what comes next.
It was born from a relationship I believed could become something lasting. I believed in the promises, the future being imagined, and the possibility that the past could be left behind. Instead, I found myself caught in a storm that carried consequences I never expected to inherit.
But this song is not about recounting every wound, assigning blame, or asking for an answer. That part is over.
It is about what came after.
There were ghosts that were supposed to follow me. Demons that were supposed to linger. Remnants deliberately left behind, as though they would have a permanent place in my life. But they found no home there. What was left behind was confronted, separated from what was truly mine, and eventually disappeared.
And what I found beyond it was not emptiness.
It was myself.
More complete than before. More certain of my value. More aware of what I am capable of building when I am no longer trying to build a life around someone else's chaos.
“Beyond the Prelude Storm” is therefore less a story about the person who caused the storm and more a reflection on the person who walked beyond it. It is about realizing that survival does not require carrying the past into the future.
The storm happened.
It mattered.
It changed the story.
