Sunjay Is Making a Scene

Making a Scene Presents an Interview with Sunjay Sunjay’s tenth studio album, Split The Sheets, brings a long creative journey full circle. It follows Black & Blues Revisited (2022) and the critically acclaimed Chris Smither tribute I’m Just Like You (2024), two records that looked closely at the music, writers, and traditions that helped shape him as an artist. Split The Sheets completes that arc while also opening the door to something broader, bolder, and more personal. Fresh from a successful UK tour, international appearances in the Czech Republic and Germany, and support from BBC Radio 2, Sunjay returns with what may be his most ambitious and sonically adventurous album to date. At its heart, Split The Sheets is an album about love in all its contradictions. Across fourteen songs, Sunjay explores attraction, commitment, devotion, jealousy, humor, lust, heartbreak, regret, longing, and loss. It is a record about the light and shade of relationships, and about the many ways love can comfort, complicate, inspire, and undo us. http://www.makingascene.org
