Can you imagine life if we didn’t take it for granted?
If we treated others the way Jesus did?
If we lived free from having to control outcomes?
That’s bliss, right in the middle of all of this.
Jesus never cursed the wealthy
He warned what holding tight can cost
Anything you cling to deeply
Is how your freedom can get lost
He lived it out in every place
Untethered, honest, unafraid
And it hurt Him watching people bound
More by blindness than by hate
Some were trapped in crooked thinking
Some in power, some in gold
Some in fear that kept them freezing
Some in grudges growing cold
The Way Jesus teaches is simple.
Anyone can walk it.
Bliss in the middle of all of this
Breath in my lungs, bills due, still no stress
World still loud, yeah it’s still a mess
Yet here I am, at rest
Bliss in the middle of all of this
Some were bowed to borrowed gods
Some to piety and pride
Some were sick in soul and body
Some just trying to survive
Some were caught inside old systems
Master rising over slave
Never seeing domination
Chains the ruler just the same
He never blessed oppression
Never called injustice right
He spoke so hearts could stay unbroken
Even when they lived in chains
Inner freedom wasn’t surrender
It was how they stayed alive
The Way Jesus teaches is simple.
Anyone can walk it.
Bliss in the middle of all of this
Breath in my lungs, bills due, still no stress
World still loud, yeah it’s still a mess
Yet here I am, at rest
Bliss in the middle of all of this
Anything that owns your heart
Can be turned to pull your strings
Anything you fear to lose
Is a handle, not a thing
He stood with those beneath the weight
Wouldn’t let their worth be named by pain
The Way Jesus teaches is simple.
Anyone can walk it.
Bliss in the middle of all of this
Breath in my lungs, bills due, still no stress
World still loud, yeah it’s still a mess
Yet here I am, at rest
Bliss in the middle of all of this
