After their first encounters at the training grounds, the Castaway and his future companion begin to seek each other out beyond the tasks of the day. Both are outsiders in a land that was not originally theirs, yet each has learned to belong in a different way: he through quiet discipline, she by refusing to let others decide where she may stand.
As their conversations deepen, she begins to recognize the restless fire beneath his calm. Training turns their differences into something tangible: his precise control against her fearless instinct. She loses, laughs, and challenges him again. What grows between them needs no vow or name — only the recognition that each has found something familiar in another kind of stranger.
