The Peddler

The Peddler gives voice to a people who live beyond the fixed borders of crown, town and estate. They carry goods, music and stories from place to place, remembering rulers long after those rulers have forgotten how temporary power can be.
As the king’s search for the Castaway spreads, the Peddlers are treated as part of an enemy network simply because they cannot be easily controlled. Yet from the road they see the larger pattern clearly: repression is feeding the very legend the crown wants to destroy, and using the Castaway’s companion as bait may become the mistake that turns unrest into something far greater.
They wear no crown and swear no oath — but they know when the wind has changed.
