The Friend

Long before crowns, rebellions and old bloodlines enter the story, the Castaway is simply a boy growing up beside another boy. They share work, fields, fights, dreams and the ordinary hardships of a life with little wealth and no great name attached to it.
The Friend notices that there is something unusual in him, but never treats that difference as a claim over him. When their paths finally separate, one leaves and one remains — without either life being made lesser by the choice. What the Castaway leaves behind is not a follower, but a person whose own character has been changed by knowing him.
